CellCept 500mg Dosage Guidelines

🔹 Adults

  • Kidney Transplant: 1 g twice daily (total 2 g/day)

  • Heart or Liver Transplant: 1.5 g twice daily (total 3 g/day)

🔹 Pediatric (2–18 years)

  • 600 mg/m² twice daily, up to a maximum of 2 g/day

🔹 Intravenous (IV) Use

  • Kidney transplant: 1 g twice daily

  • Heart/Liver transplant: 1.5 g twice daily

  • IV must be given slowly over at least 2 hours (never as a rapid bolus)

⚠️ Note: The IV form is usually used immediately after transplant, then patients are switched to oral tablets or capsules under specialist supervision.


Administration Instructions

  • Take on an empty stomach (may be taken with food if necessary)

  • Do not crush or open tablets/capsules (to avoid exposure to drug powder)

  • Oral suspension and IV solution require reconstitution before use

  • IV infusion must run ≥2 hours, not given as a rapid injection
