Description
Voriconazole 200mg Injection – Antifungal IV Therapy for Severe Infections
Voriconazole 200mg injection is a broad-spectrum antifungal medication used to treat life-threatening fungal infections when oral therapy is not suitable. Belonging to the triazole antifungal class, voriconazole works by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P-450-dependent 14α-lanosterol demethylation, blocking ergosterol synthesis and weakening the fungal cell membrane.
Indications – What Voriconazole Injection Treats
Voriconazole 200mg injection is prescribed for serious systemic fungal infections, including:
-
Invasive aspergillosis (lung infection caused by Aspergillus species)
-
Candidemia in non-neutropenic patients and deep tissue Candida infections
-
Serious infections caused by Fusarium species
-
Infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum
Voriconazole is especially effective in patients who are intolerant of or resistant to other antifungal therapies.
Dosage & Administration
-
Loading Dose (Day 1): 6 mg/kg IV every 12 hours

Liver function → possible hepatotoxicity
-
Vision changes → reversible visual disturbances are common
-
Cardiac health → risk of QT prolongation
