Description
Actilyse 50mg Injection (Alteplase) – Uses, Dosage, Side Effects & Price in Pakistan
Actilyse 50mg Injection is a thrombolytic (clot-dissolving) medicine that contains the active ingredient Alteplase. It is prescribed for the emergency treatment of life-threatening conditions caused by blood clots, including heart attack (myocardial infarction), acute ischemic stroke, and pulmonary embolism.
What is Actilyse Used For?
Actilyse is a prescription-only medication used in hospitals under strict medical supervision. It helps restore blood flow by dissolving clots inside blood vessels.
-
✅ Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction): Breaks down clots blocking heart arteries, restoring blood flow and minimizing heart muscle damage.
-
✅ Acute Ischemic Stroke: Dissolves clots in the brain’s arteries, restoring blood flow and reducing the risk of permanent disability.
-
✅ Pulmonary Embolism: Treats blood clots in the lungs, improving oxygen delivery and reducing life-threatening risks.
How Actilyse (Alteplase) Works
Actilyse contains Alteplase, a tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). It works by converting plasminogen into plasmin, an enzyme that breaks down fibrin (the structural framework of blood clots). This process helps dissolve clots and restores normal blood circulation.
